Assistive technology to support people with disabilities access livelihoods through agriculture.
A few years ago we started the innovative AgriLab project in Indonesia to help people with a disability provide for themselves and their families by creating assistive technology through agriculture. By doing so we try to help them build and expand their capacity for independent problem solving in the future.
AgriLab has created technologies such as rice seeders for elderly farmers and motorized cassava harvesting carts for mobility impaired farmers.
At the end of last year the project completed the latest prototype: a water pool with vegetation where they can breed fish and test the watering system which allows the people to easily water their crops, such as champignons.
